The breathtaking nature of Whangarei Heads, an area of some 6000Ha of spectacular coastal landscape makes it a ‘hidden gem’ in Northland, New Zealand.

Between these stunning coastal fringes lies a diverse natural landscape including over 2600ha of forest and shrubland rising to 20 million year old volcanic peaks dominated by towering Mt Manaia and the Bream Head ridge reaching over 400metres. This natural wonderland is recognised as one of national significance due to the richness of fish, forest and bird life and includes one of only five Kiwi sanctuaries in New Zealand.
